DELABIE AND SANITARY FITTING COMPLIANCE IN HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

In recent years, the Department of Health & Social Care has issued various guidance for Sanitary Provision in healthcare facilities.
The aim is to ensure appropriate solutions for the intended use. DELABIE’s sanitary fittings have been specifically designed to be
fit-for-purpose in specialist healthcare environments and to comply with current guidance.

Health Technical Memorandum 04-01: Safe water in healthcare premises
HTM 04 01 Parts A – C (2016), and the Supplement (2017) for TMV performance specification, provide guidance for the design,
installation, commissioning and operational management for the provision of safe water, with a specific focus on infection control
HTM04-01
and anti-scalding measures.
This supplements the Health and Safety Executive guidance HSG274 for legionella control in hot and cold water systems.
Health Technical Memorandum 07-04: Water management and water efficiency – best practice advice
for the healthcare sector (2013)
HTM07-04 HTM 07 04 encourages the efficient management of water in healthcare facilities and highlights the economic and environmental
benefits of self-closing/sensor taps, dual flush WCs and controlled-flush urinals in the appropriate environments

Health Building Note 00-02: Sanitary spaces (Published 2013, updated 2016)
HBN 00 02 provides best practice guidance on the design and layout of sanitary spaces for use in healthcare settings
HBN00-02 and enhances Approved DOC M accessibility provision.

Health Building Note 00-09: Infection control in the built environment (2013)
HBN 00 09 advocates the application of design principles to encourage desired behaviour to promote patient safety and comfort,
HBN00-09 prevent contamination and facilitate cleanliness.

Health Building Note 00-10: Part C: Sanitary Assemblies (2013)
HBN 00 10 outlines essential quality and safety standards that sanitary assemblies must comply with.
HBN00-10 Particular consideration is given to: infection prevention and control; patient safety; product standardisation, sustainability
and life-cycle management; cleaning regimes and maintenance costs.
